Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Gray and Alisa – May 16, 2015
Gray and Alisa brought the New Orleans’ wedding traditions to their Pennsylvania wedding!
If you thought we did it big in NYC or in Philadelphia, you were wrong! Apparently, I was too! New Orleans knows how to throw a wedding! After the ceremony the bride, groom and second line jazz band leads the guests from the ceremony to the reception which represents the beginning of the couple’s life together. Gray and Alisa were in love with the traditions from the French Quarter and decided it would be perfect for their big day!
They began their wedding day by getting ready with close friends and family at the Latham Hotel.
Followed by a beautiful and elegant garden ceremony at the National Society of The Colonial Dames.
There was so much love in the air and enough happy tears to water the garden for weeks!
Gray and Alisa grabbed their feathered umbrellas and Mardi Gras colored decor and danced through the streets under the gray skies.
The threatening clouds could not stop this special parade! The streets of Philadelphia were shut down to allow the couple’s guests and band to parade to The Racquet Club.
Once, at the reception venue, everyone continued to dance, talk, eat, and love each other!
This was a truly an amazing way for Gray and Alisa to start their life together as husband and wife!
Fun fact: In Mardi Gras tradition, purple stands for justice, gold stands for power, and green stands for faith.
Love her wispy bouquet!
