Mike met a girl crazy for him. Katie met a boy, cute as can be. Summer wedding, happened so fast. Summer wedding, had me a blast. Oh the summer nights!
The morning skies were gray – teasing to rain. The bride and groom, Katie and Mike, got dressed for their wedding day at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, NJ. We were careful to sneak each one of them out to travel to their ceremony. They chose to not have a first look so that they may have that big reveal with their family and friends.
Their ceremony was extra special because not only did the priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church speak, but also, the priest that Katie grew up with.
Following the Morristown ceremony, we drove to the Phoenix House, in Mendham, NJ for wedding party photos and bride and groom portraits. The bridesmaids were dressed in light purples, holding white bouquets, and looking flawless, thanks to the team at Depasquale The Spa. The groomsmen were sporting tan suits which complimented their summer wedding.
The Phoenix House could not have been more perfect! The side of the building was a beautiful mix of brick and white siding with just the right amount of ivy growing up the wall. The garden added greenery with some extra pops of color.
The thick sky couldn’t hold on any longer so it decided to release its’ wrath upon us. Luckily it’s wrath was limited – it was only light rain but because we were in the most perfect location, we simply moved the party onto the porch. Katie and Mike continued smiling, giggling and enjoying their wedding day. A little bit of rain wasn’t going to ruin their wedding day. They kept the most important thing in mind – they’re married and their family was together.
After photos at the Phoenix House, we went to a private estate where the reception was taking place under a white tent. Culinary Creations Catering did an amazing job being the onsite coordinators. Owls and Lions kept the music going all night long. To elevate their guests’ experience, Katie and Mike opted for a non traditional wedding dinner. Their guests threw on some bibs and savored their lobster. What a perfect way to end their special night.
Oh the summer nights!
