Stuck at home? Living the quarantined life during coronavirus Covid-19 era? We’re all experiencing this differently but we are all experiencing it together. Our normal lives have been changed by coronavirus but that doesn’t mean we cannot enjoy our time at home. Since a good amount of us are spending so much time at home, due to Covid-19, we might be getting bored. Below is a list of date night ideas. If you happen to be staying at home alone, and have run out of things to do, some activities on the list can be done for yourself – you can take yourself on a date and there is absolutely no shame in that!
Like everything in life their are tiers to this thing. No, not tears, but yes those are OK to let out too! The date night idea list starts with a few outdoor dates that can be done in a safe manner, then it goes into “obvious” things to do at home. The date night idea list then starts to get creative; first are some activities that does not require too much prep time, followed by some activities that requires an opened mind and some prep time.
Outdoor Date Night Ideas:
- Go on a hike
- Go for a drive
- Go on a bike ride (where there are no people)
- Have a picnic in your backyard
- Work out in the back yard
- Read to each other in the backyard or read a chapter and discuss
Possibly Obvious Dates Night Ideas (can also be done in the backyard):
- Play cards
- Play boardgames
- Play pictionary
- Play charades
- Do a puzzle
- Karaoke night
- Watch a movie
- Cook a meal together
- Create a recipe together to pass down to the family
- Collaborate on a painting or drawing
- Take turns attempting to draw or paint each other
Starting To Think Outside the Box:
- Ask 36 questions to fall in in love
- Online dance class
- Take a virtual tour of famous museums
- Visit a zoo
- Watch a broadway show
- Watch a full ballet or opera #OurHouseToYourHouse
- Go bowling in your own home – use paper towels for the pins
- Learn the dance and the words to an old music video
- Cook or bake blindfolded while the other directs vocally or as a puppeteer. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!
- Go on google maps (or a real map if you have one), close your eyes and point or throw a dart (not to your computer screen) to randomly choose a location and cook a recipe influenced by that location
- Choose an outfit for each other and attend a candlelight dinner at home
- Have a fashion show with your own clothes, your partner’s clothes or items around the house. Make sure the paparazzi is in the building – aka have a camera on hand to photograph the great outfits!
- Write a book about your future together
- Learn some card tricks or magic tricks
- This one is for the ladies… Play video games together with your man. And actually try to understand why he likes it so much. (And let me know if you can figure it out. I’m not much of a gamer.)
Creative / Needs Prep Work:
- Reenact your first date or first anniversary date or engagement as best as you can at home
- Drive-in movie
- this can be done in the house or in the backyard
- make a makeshift car (you can even do this together)
- gather some must have snacks
- sit in your makeshift car and watch your movie
- instead of a makeshift car, you can use an inflatable mattress, maybe make a fort
- *OR* fully charge the laptop, pack the snacks, (pre-download movie) and drive to a scenic spot to watch your drive-in movie
- Go camping indoors
- pitch a tent
- set up the blow up mattress or bring out the sleeping bags
- hang some twinkly lights or market lights to bring the stars inside or purchase a night sky projector
- Spread candles throughout the house, along with rose petals or flowers
- continue with a romantic dinner
- continue with a night of dancing
- continue with a massage
- possibly end with trying something new during private time – Bow Chicka Bow Wow
- Create something for him/her
- sing and record a song for your partner
- play an instrument or pre-record it for your partner
- write a song
- write a poem
- Travel around the world in your own home
- set up each room with a different theme such as a different state, country or continent
- these can be places that are special to you, places you have traveled to before or places you wish to go to
- after you have traveled the world cook a meal that is inspired by one place or all places you have just traveled to
- Spa day
- hang out in comfy robes
- put on some masks on your faces – don’t forget the cucumbers or tea bags on the eyes
- do her/his nails
- enjoy a bubble bath – massage the hands and feet
- give a full body massage
- Virtual beer pong – double date
- set up a table with beer pong
- set up a device (ipad or tv preferably) on the opposite side of you, where people would be standing
- play as normal
- learn how to play beer pong here
- virtual flip cup might be fun too
- Set up a scavenger hunt throughout the house
- there’s so much you can do with this

- Nerf battle or target practice
- buy some nerf guns
- set up a target
- or battle it out with each other
- what I have done in the past is have the other person shoot at me while I try to block the nerf bullet with a toy sword – this is my version of training to be a ninja
