They spent the semester in the same class almost every day but never speaking to each other. However, there was a good amount of staring going on.

Days before the end of their semester, Kim finally had enough of the staring and waived her hand in attempts to get him to stop. Bear interpreted her wave as… well, a wave saying hello. He flashed her the biggest smile in excitement. At the end of class he slipped Kim a piece of paper with his number on it and proceeded to skateboard out of class. Do you think she called?

No, of course not! She did the only practical thing and texted him! No one had slipped Kim a note since she was in 5th grade so Bear’s method caught her attention!

Kim knew Bear was the one for her since the first day they hung out. He made her laugh so hard, harder than she has ever laughed in her life. And from that day on, she never stopped laughing.

Bear knew Kim was the one for him when she met his family. She fit in so well. Seeing Kim interact with his parents made Bear want her to be his family.

Bear had planned a big weekend for Kim and Bear so that he could propose in front of all their family and friends. But… Bear got too excited and couldn’t wait any longer. One day, within 30 seconds of Bear arriving home from work, he asked Kim to marry her!  She was in her baggy sweat pants, hair tied in a pony tail, no make-up on and tired from a long day of studying for her Bar Exam. It was the perfect moment– just the two of them.

Kim and Bear had their engagement session on Sandy Hook Beach, in Highlands, New Jersey. It’s a special place to them with so many photography opportunities. A great place for a summer engagement session! They wanted to have fun and feel like themselves. Sandy Hook Beach was a great location to set the scene. Once we were there, it was nothing but good times! They laughed, they dug their toes in the sand, and splashed each other with some cold ocean water. Their session ran a little later than expected because, you know – things happen. Regardless, it was absolutely perfect!

Bear still stares at Kim as if he was a college boy with a crush on the girl across the classroom and Kim really does laugh super hard with Bear around. Their love is quite beautiful to witness!
